The role leads a team of specialists and associates across server, network, cloud, virtualization, endpoint, telecom and physical-security systems, ensuring resilient operations, robust cybersecurity posture and ISMS / ISO 27001 compliance. The Manager translates technology strategy set by the CISO/CIO into executable plans, manages vendors and budgets, oversees incident and change governance, and drives continuous improvement, automation and risk reduction across the function.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end operations of the infrastructure stack – datacenter, server, storage, virtualization, network, firewall, cloud, endpoint, telecom and ELV / physical-security systems – delivering agreed availability, performance and security KPIs.
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Assistant Managers, Specialists and Associates; set objectives, conduct reviews and build a structured competency-based development plan.
- Define and govern IT operations processes aligned to ITIL – Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Configuration and Service-Level Management.
- Chair the Change Advisory Board (CAB) for infrastructure changes, approve risk-assessed changes and ensure zero unauthorized changes.
- Drive the cybersecurity operations agenda – firewall, EDR, IAM, VAPT, vulnerability management, SIEM, security monitoring and incident response in coordination with the CISO.
- Act as the operational Management Representative (MR) for ISMS / ISO 27001 – maintain the Statement of Applicability, risk register, controls evidence, internal audit programmed and external audit readiness.
- Lead policy and procedure lifecycle (IT, security, acceptable use, access, BYOD, vendor, DR/BCP) including periodic review and management of change.
- Plan and govern capacity, lifecycle and refresh of infrastructure assets; build and execute the annual technology roadmap for the stream.
- Own the infrastructure budget – CAPEX/OPEX planning, vendor PO governance, AMC renewals, cost optimization across cloud and on-prem.
- Manage strategic vendors, OEMs, ISPs and managed-service partners – SoW, SLAs, performance reviews, escalation handling and contract negotiation.
- Oversee backup, business-continuity and disaster-recovery programmers including periodic drills, RTO/RPO validation and reporting to management.
- Lead infrastructure projects – DC/DR refresh, cloud migration, network upgrades, security platform rollouts, IDAM / SSO, zero-trust and automation initiatives.
- Govern audit and compliance engagements (internal, external, customer, regulatory) – co-ordinate evidence, manage observations and drive closure with root-cause fixes.
- Report performance, risks, incidents and improvement initiatives to the CISO, CIO and senior leadership through structured monthly / quarterly reviews.
- Drive a culture of security awareness, knowledge sharing, mentoring and continuous improvement across the IT Infrastructure team.
